Hey,
I'm running for Rep this year. I took a gap year because of Covid-19 but starting our first year as law students have been drastically different than other students. We have had no:
- Face to face lectures.
- Any in-person teaching apart from tutorials.
Both of which are fundamental for success in our studies, but for our mental health. In-person teaching provides time to get to know your coursemates, the people who we will all undoubtedly be working with within our future careers.
I propose three main changes that I want to help implement:
- A return to optional in-person teaching with facilities to stream and record our lectures so those who cannot attend for some reason have the same chance as everyone else.
- Invest money saved during online learning to implement streaming facilities in our Law School.
- Permanently implement 'take-home' online exams and replace traditional against-the-clock exams.
Plus many more, including a big focus on social events, mental health, and interaction with law firms.
There are over 24,000 of us in our student body. Every vote matters.
If you like the sound of this please use your vote and vote for me!
