Candidate for the position of Undergraduate School Representative - School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences (SMED)
Sakshi Roy
I want to be an Undergraduate School representative for the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences (SMED) because this opportunity enables students like me to develop and strengthen leadership skills, connect with various internal and external agencies, assist fellow students with having their voice heard and share experiences and participate in national events for student leaders. I have heard from my seniors how amazing this position is and I want all my peers to know how exciting it is as well as help in the running of the society this year. In my school, I was one of the founders of my school's first-ever science society and have publicized it to various year groups as well. This helped me recruit over 50 students. I have also been a Student Ambassador for Technovation and thus have experience in holding social events and talking to students about any problems they face. I would love to hold social events so that I can help show how amazing the field of Health Sciences is and would love to create and fun and engaging atmosphere. I think this role is perfect for me because I love working with people and I am eager to raise awareness about how amazing the field of Healthcare is. I know, how daunting it is as a fresher for us to cope with entering university and experiencing how different university is from high school; so I would make sure that everyone feels comfortable in cooperating and feel a part of the Scrubs Society.
