Who Am I?
Hello, I am an MA film student who has previously served as an AEL UG course representative for BA Film Studies and Production. As an AEL course rep, I have had the opportunity to work alongside the school in continuously improving the academic experience for all UG students, from helping to implement the AI traffic light system that is used for all Canvas assignments, as well as the newly transformed AEL 3001 Work-Based Learning module that is now specifically tailored to the interests of the student.
What Would I Bring to this Role?
Over the years, I have maintained a strong, attentive presence at all SVC meetings I have attended, ensuring that all concerns and issues brought to me by students were addressed and resolved appropriately. It is most important that the needs of others are put ahead of my own needs, and this is an area that I intend to continue improving throughout this next academic year. Furthermore, I have an established positive relationship with much of the AEL academic staff, and it is this relationship that will allow me to foster a strong communicative link between all AEL PGT students and academic staff, thus ensuring that all student and academic affairs are both equally heard and communicated.
Why Vote For Me?
PGT students come from various academic backgrounds, and it can be a daunting experience to be placed in an entirely different academic playing field. As such, I am auditing a range of AEL PGT Film modules to support and lend my previous academic experience to all newly arrived QUB Film students in any way that I can. I am passionate about the overall student experience here at Queen's, and as a part-time MA student, I will dedicate much of my time to this AEL representative role to ensure that the views and opinions of all AEL PGT students are represented by someone with their best interests in mind.
From the reimplementation of module content surveys, to proposing a more interactively stimulating learning experience for students on all AEL modules, and creating a reformed academic experience with an increase in more diverse and unique assessments offered by each AEL module. Vote me as your AEL PGT School Representative, and I will make it my mission to improve the AEL PGT academic experience to ensure that the students' learning experience is as engaging, as stress-free, and as enjoyable as possible.
