Why vote for me?

Experience: I have been heavily active in the student body from the Campaigns and Events Officer of the Politics Society two years running, to the Events Officer turned eventual President of the Feminist and Equality Society. I've organised, campaigned, and at times argued on issues of human rights, particularly the rights of women and gender minorities. I've spoken on gender based violence in transatlantic panels representing the youth of Ireland, I've helped get the Student's Union declare Gender Based Violence an emergency last year. I've raised awareness around various feminist issues through the "Feminism and" panels, and have overseen one of the largest societies dedicated to the pursuit and protection of human rights on campus.

Passion: Anyone who has ever known me, knows that when I am passionate about something I will not stop or shut up. I've been known as "that outspoken feminist" and I want to use that trait to help amplify YOUR VOICE, OPINIONS, AND NEEDS to the Student's Union and Queen's Management. I'm no stranger to critiquing both of these, and I believe that's exactly who you need the Student Union; someone who sees where we need to work harder and actually deliver. Someone who encourages critique on even their own work so I can then do better for you.

Everything I am campaigning on I cannot promise willl be easily delivered but I can promise I will work my hardest to deliver.

What will I aim to deliver?

>>>Gender Based Violence as an Emergency on Campus.

               - Echo the Push for Mandatory Consent Talks in conjunction with the FemSoc.

-Campaign around decreasing sexual violence on campus.

-Safety packs given to all students.

-work with PSNI to remove any victim blaming narratives on their leaflets etc.

>>>Safety for Nights Out initiative

-Work with local bars to ensure safety of students when out. Issues surrounding bouncers kicking out young women, and people in general, in vulnerable states alone are not isolated incidents. I will contact local bars to ask what training their staff go through, and work towards ensuring the safety of vulnerable students is a priority.

>>>Pro Choice

Continue to ensure that students who need to access abortions have the information necessary available. Work with activist groups on campus to provide this, and to continue reaching out to politicians on this.

>>> Amplify voices of all women students on campus.

This will be acheived by having regular meetings with students, and feminist activist groups to ensure that what the students need, want, and are calling for is represented to the wider Students Union and Upper Management of Queen's. I want to represent all women and your needs including (but not limited to) trans women, black women, women of colour, women who are mature students, women with childcare duties, disabled women. If all women are not heard, and delivered for, then no woman is heard and delivered for.
