About

Are you looking for a society that strikes the right balance between banter and cultural education? If so the African-Caribbean Society (ACS) is for you!

Considering the fact that Northern Ireland is a majority white country, with only 0.2% of the population identifying as Black, the ACS may be perceived as a society set up to provide a community strictly for Africans and Caribbean’s. Well, that’s far from the truth. Our doors are opened to everyone. The African-Caribbean Society will help develop your cultural and racial awareness in an educational, lively and entertaining environment. We aim to do this through various cultural and social events throughout the academic year.

The ACS aims to provide a safe space to meet amazing people, socialise, taste good food, and party!

Lastly, our committee is made up of amazing students who are passionate about the African-Caribbean culture. We are all very approachable and are happy to help in any way within our capacity as members of the ACS committee.

Like we said earlier, if you’re looking for banter and/or cultural education, the ACS is where to be.

Together we celebrate our achievements, heritage and cultures!
