Do you love Rick Riordan's 'Percy Jackson' or Madeline Miller's 'The Song of Achilles'? Are you a devotee of Marvel's 'Loki'? (I mean, who isn't?). Perhaps you're more interested in the Egyptian Gods, and love Shakespeare's 'Anthony and Cleopatra'? Or, are you more of a local folklore buff, interested in King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and even heroes like Finn Mac Cumaill or Cú Chulainn? Whether you're a casual lover of myths or more of a scholar with studies in Classical Civilisation, we're welcoming to all with interests in mythology and folklore.
Sign up for the Lore Society (est. 2023) today and attend many of our events! We will meet regularly throughout the semester with various social and academic events. Events include pub quizzes, lectures, film screenings and more. And, of course, our annual formal will take place at the end of the academic year - this year's theme is 'Valhalla Galla', so start planning your Norse mythology-inspired outfits now!
Remember, you don't have to know anything about Mythology to join - as long as you share the interest and desire to learn, you'll have a great time making friends and indulging in the world of myths!
If you are interested in learning more or getting involved, email us at lore-soc@qub.ac.uk or via Instagram or Facebook.
