About

Did you grow up loving Rick Riordan's 'Percy Jackson', or have an obsession with the Egyptian Gods? Are you a fanatic of the Norse, interested in the tales of Odin, Thor or even Loki? Or, perhaps you're a buff for local myths, interested in heroes like Finn Mac Cumaill, Cú Chulainn or even King Arthur? Whether you're a casual lover of myths or more of a scholar with studies in Classical Civilisation, we're welcoming to all.

Founded in early 2023 by Skye Tufts, Lore Society is a society for those with interests in mythology and folklore. Sign up today and attend many of our events! We will meet regularly throughout the semester with various social and academic events. Events include pub quizzes, lectures, workshops, film screenings, a book club, trips away and more. And, of course, our annual formal will take place at the end of the academic year - this year's theme is 'Valhalla Galla', so start planning your Norse mythology-inspired outfits now!

We specialise in four categories:

  • Greek Mythology
  • Egyptian Mythology
  • Norse Mythology
  • Celtic Mythology

Remember, you don't have to know anything about Mythology to join. As long as you share the enthusiasm to know more, you'll have a great time making friends and indulging in the world of myths! If you are interested in learning more or getting involved, email us at lore-soc@qub.ac.uk or catch us via Instagram, Facebook or Whatsapp.
