Dear Queens Students,
I am excited to present my manifesto for the position of Student Welfare Officer, and I am asking for your support in this important role. As your Student Welfare Officer, I commit to:
Social Health Clinic:
Social Health Clinic will offer counseling sessions, group therapy, workshops on building social skills, and access to community resources. It will serve as a safe space for students to seek guidance and assistance in navigating social challenges, fostering a supportive and inclusive campus community
Accessible Transportation:
Reliable and cost-effective transportation is fundamental to your overall well-being. I will actively pursue initiatives for free or discounted transport cards for students, and seamless access to educational resources and community activities.
Legal Shield for Every Hassle:
Legal support will be readily available for any kind of harassment within the university or student workplace. Your safety and well-being are non-negotiable, and I am here to advocate for you.
Family-Friendly Spaces:
Advocate for family-friendly policies by working closely with the Students’ Union Crèche and other childcare facilities on campus.
Stress-Free Environments:
Advocate for stress-free spaces on campus, understanding the unique pressures students face. Let's create an environment where you can thrive without unnecessary strain.
Community Support:
Build a strong community of support by working closely with the Union President and University management. Together, we can create a space that understands and supports your unique needs.
Accommodation Solutions:
Tackle accommodation challenges by working towards practical solutions, ensuring that your housing situation contributes positively to your overall well-being.
Financial Support and Guidance:
Address financial hardships by providing support and solutions for students facing economic challenges. Collaborate with the Education on Progress Committees and offer assistance on legal aid matters.
Wellbeing Campaigns:
Collaborate with the President's Campaigns and Engagement to lead campaigns focused on mental health awareness, stress reduction, and housing advocacy.
Remember, Your Voice Matters:
Your concerns are my priorities. Together, we will create a campus environment where each student feels heard, supported, and empowered.
