QUBLWOB x Literific Debate: This House Believes that Digital Privacy Should be a New Human Right

7pm - 8:30pm

Tuesday 27 January 2026

Canada Room, Lanyon Building

A collaboration with QUB Literature and Scientific Society, with a debate motion being "This House Believes that Digital Privacy Should be a New Human Right”. The debate is open to all registered members of QUBLWOB.

We are looking for 6-8 of our members to form a team and prepare arguments for the debate. Participants can choose whether they would like to argue ‘for’ or ‘against’ the topic. And we need 3-4 speakers on each side of the debate. Successful applicants will be added into a WhatsApp group with all participants to allow communication and development of their arguments through discussion. Selection is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

We aim to foster a low-pressure and easygoing environment, so it is the perfect opportunity to develop your public speaking skills and confidence in a low-stakes setting. Further, it is also a fantastic chance to interact with non-law students and broaden both social and academic perspectives on all sides. Anyone that is interested in just spectating is welcome as well!
