About

The English society is a place for all bookworms and storytellers or anyone who has an interest in the subject! We’ve hosted well known events such as our poetry and pints nights, quizzes, and hangouts as well as our annual formal. We work in close contact with Belfast arts and culture events and often collab with other societies. We’re a space for any avid readers or writers or even just a space to make friends!

As a society we aim to: Be a hub for all things bookish, (we do this by having our members share what they’re reading, who they’re reading and why they’re reading them), be a space to make friends with people with similar interests, be a platform to share your own creative work at events or online.

We aim to be inclusive and organise numerous collab events with other clubs and societies. Our goal is to create a literary community that is not defined by course, background or ability.
