Ógra Fianna Fáil is a progressive, republican political youth movement, the largest and most active political youth movement in Ireland. Founded in 1975 as the youth wing of Fianna Fáil – The Republican Party, membership of Ógra is open to anyone between the ages of 16 and 30 inclusive, either in higher education institutions or in any constituency around the island of Ireland.
The William Drennan Cumann is the representation of Ógra Fianna Fáil on campus at Queens University Belfast. The Cumann's main aim is to bring people together; regardless of their views and background, in order to make Fianna Fáil the most pragmatic, successful and diverse political party to be found anywhere on the island of Ireland. The next decade will present many more challenges for Ógra and Fianna Fáil, but that is what Ógra is all about: meeting challenges. The vibrancy and enthusiasm of youth is a unique thing that should be cherished and used to its full potential, 'Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí'. Ógra will continue to play a defining role in the future of Ireland’s largest political party and in shaping the Ireland we want to live in so come and join today and have your voice heard along with playing your part in shaping the future of our island!
Whether you are interested in politics or not, it is worth being a member of the William Drennan Cumann if only for the sessions, craic and above all, the friends you will make during your time as a member. With cumanns (branches) in each and every county across our island there is room for you to make your voice heard on both local and national issue that you care about. Along with this we have our annual National Youth Conference where hundreds of likeminded young people gather for a weekend of stimualtion debate at our National Council and a night for fun and laughter at the Gala Dinner. Your future is in your hands! Join Ógra today!
