The QUB Philosophy Society is run by philosophy students for anyone and everyone with an interest in (or would like to learn more about) philosophy and life's biggest questions. We’re an inclusive bunch and are open to anyone at any stage in their philosophical journey - whether you're new to it all or a full-time Plato.
We try to meet regularly to socialise and philosophise, and harness a feeling of community for philosophy lovers at Queen’s.
Some of the events we hold include:
* Philosophy and Pints at a local bar (probably the Speakeasy, lbr) to catch up, have a pint (or two) and chat about philosophy.
* Film Night, where we watch a film or documentary that presents a particular philosophical question of dilemma, and then discuss it.
* Seminars, where we host guest speakers from near and far to talk about their work and expertise in the field of philosophy (with a Q&A at the end).
* Mourne Mountains Trip.
* The HAPP Formal.
We also host logic workshops in the Spring semester for first-year philosophy students. If you have an idea for a society event, please let us know!
Of course, these events may look very different this year due to the current pandemic. Health and safety within our campus community is of most importance to us, so please keep an eye out for further updates on our meetings and how they will take place.
