About

PsychSoc is the society for Psychology students or anyone who is interested in Psychology at Queen’s University, Belfast. The main objective of PsychSoc is to ensure everyone in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes have the opportunity to mix and make friends with other members of the psychology community at Queens. To help facilitate this, we hold social events such as pub crawls, pub quizzes and the annual formal. These social events are open to all members and non-members. Every year we hold a Fresher’s Pub Crawl so new first years have an opportunity to socialise in Belfast’s nightlife. This year, we will also be selling PsychSoc hoodies, so keep an eye out!

We also host academic events throughout the year, including workshops to support our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Psychology students with topics and assessments they will encounter in their courses. For example in the past, PsychSoc worked with the Learning Development Centre at Queen’s to hold a Literature Review workshop aimed to help Level 2 students with their first ever Literature Review coursework. Other academic events have included essay writing skills, referencing and the Level 3 module choice presentation.

The PsychSoc is run by a dedicated group of students also in the School of Psychology, who work hard to make your university experience as fun and enlightening as possible. So if you're a lover of psychology, and a great night out, make sure to sign up at one of the induction days. Or, access the sign up page through your SU account.

Make sure to get tickets for our October social event, the Autumn Pub Quiz on 20/10 in the Students Union bar at 7pm! With plenty of drinks prizes to be won, come join in the craic! Tickets available from all our social medias on Tuesday 11th.
