Women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world and with the Olympics just gone and the World Cup coming in 2025, there is no better time to ‘give rugby a try’. Why not come down and meet us at the Freshers' fair on the 18th of September, or attend our 'Give It A Try' (23rd of September) and 'Rugby Ready' (beginning 2nd Ocober) sessions? More details about these events and our general club activites can be found on our social media, @QUBLRFC on Instagram and Tiktok.

At QUBLRFC we have three teams playing in differnent leagues and levels.
Our 1st XV play in the Ulster Premiership (Division 1).
Our 2nd XV formed in 2019 and is aimed at newbies rugby and those playing on a more casual basis, playing in Ulster's championship B league.

We also have a student team, the 'Valkyries', who play in the SSI (Student Sport Ireland) league.

We currently train together at the DUB (upper Malone playing fields) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7pm-8:30pm on pitch 8.

We love to use any excuse for team-bonding activities, including: trips and events, attending various rugby tournaments, going to watch Women’s Ulster rugby matches and various socials. The highlights during the year include the Rugby Formal, Club Dinner and a trip to the Kingspan to watch Ireland's women in the Six Nations.

Rugby is a contact team sport, played between two teams of 15 players with seven/eight substitutes. Players in each team are divided into eight forwards and seven backs. Forwards are responsible for gaining and retaining possession of the ball. They are generally bigger and stronger and take part in the scrum and line-out. The back’s role is to create and convert point-scoring opportunities. They are generally smaller, faster and more agile than the forwards. This makes rugby an ideal sport for players of all shapes and sizes to improve their physical health and be part of a team (more like an extended family!).

We welcome players of all abilities and your safety is our priority. Our aim is to refine your basic rugby skills before moving into more complex set pieces and teaching you all the laws of the game.
