About

Looking for the Men's Club? Just click here.

Women’s rugby is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and with the World Cup currently ongoing, there has never been a better time to give rugby a try. Whether you’re an experienced player or completely new to the game, QUBLRFC is the place to get stuck in, meet new people, and be part of a brilliant community.

We run three competitive teams, offering something for everyone:

  • 1st XV – Competing in the Ulster Premiership, our 1XV are proud Junior Cup champions, lifting the trophy in the Kingspan last season and continuing to perform at the top level of Ulster rugby. We also had a number of players representing Ulster this summer.
  • 2nd XV – Established in 2019, our 2XV is ideal for those who are newer to the sport or want a more social rugby experience. They play in the Ulster Championship B league and are a great entry point into the club.
  • The Valkyries – Our student team compete in the Student Sport Ireland league. Last year, they had an outstanding season, winning both the Division 3 Cup and the league title, earning promotion to Division 2.

We train together at the DUB (Upper Malone Playing Fields) on Mondays and Thursdays, 7–8:30pm, Pitch 8. Training balances skill development, fitness, and fun, with experienced coaches and a strong emphasis on supporting new players.

Off the pitch, we’re just as active. From team-bonding trips, nights out, and club socials to big annual events like the Rugby Formal, Club Dinner, and watching Ireland Women at the Kingspan during the Six Nations, there’s always something going on.

Rugby is a sport for every body type and ability. Forwards, backs, speed, strength, agility — whatever your strengths are, there’s a place for you on the pitch. Our priority is helping you learn the basics safely, gain confidence, and enjoy the game as part of a close-knit team (more like a family!).

New Player? Fill out this form & we'll be in contact: www.qubrugby.com/joinus. We’d love to meet you at Freshers’ Fair (17th September). We will also be running a 'Give It A Try' session (date & time TBC), so keep an eye out for an announcement of this.

Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @QUBLRFC for the latest updates. Come along, get involved, and be part of one of the most exciting sports societies on campus!
