QUB SDLP is the Queen’s University society of the Social Democratic and Labour Party and the Queen's branch of SDLP Youth. We are a social democratic and Irish nationalist party in Northern Ireland. Since our founding in 1970, the SDLP has worked tirelessly to make this country a better place, being the political voice and one of the chief architects of the Northern Ireland civil rights movement.
Now our mission is to offer a left-wing alternative and to build a united, just and prosperous new Ireland, without discrimination or prejudice. By joining QUB SDLP, you will have a fantastic chance to take part in politics and become part of a brilliant team of young political activists. You’ll get to campaign on a wide array of issues, including:
Standing up for the rights of students and young people across Northern Ireland.
Combating poverty across the North, aiming to achieve a society built on social justice.
Fighting against discrimination, prejudice, sectarianism and homophobia in all its forms.
Fighting for climate justice and for a just transition towards a sustainable future.
In addition, as a member of QUB SDLP you will get the opportunity to take part in political discussions, meet our elected representatives and have your say in the future of our party and our country. QUB SDLP is also a great place to take part in fun socials and make some lifelong friends.
Join us today to fight for a shared, united and social democratic new Ireland.
