About

QUB Sinn Féin is a political society affiliated to Ógra Shinn Féin, the youth wing of Sinn Féin- the biggest all Ireland political party. Sinn Féin is an Irish Republican and Socialist Party founded in 1905, it is the largest party in the Northern Irish Assembly and also the largest party in the Oireachtas.

QUB Sinn Féin is committed to pursuing a progressive republican movement, campaigning on issues such as the unjust oppression of the Palestinian people, homelessness, the commercialisation of Queen’s University, mental health, equal marriage and support for the LGBTQ+ community, feminism & reproductive rights, promotion of the Gaeilge at QUB following Acht na Gaeilge, and the peaceful and democratic reunification of the Island of Ireland under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement. QUB Sinn Féin works to voice an alternative to the degrading whims of neo-liberalism north and south, in pursuit of a new Ireland, that is representative of all her people.

Asides from being political activists, QUB Sinn Féin promotes comradeship and fun, facilitating social events, team building exercises and ice breakers throughout the year; from Christmas dinners to casual pints after meetings.
