Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact sport which is played both indoors (5 a side) and outdoors (7 a side). A point is scored by passing the disc past the end zone. It is one of the few sports which is governed solely by sportsmanship and relies on the ‘Spirit of the game’ to maintain fair play. It is regarded as one of the fastest growing sports in the world

Queens Ultimate Frisbee has been growing from strength to strength in the past year. Just in the past year, we have taken part in 5 Competitive tournaments and sending 7 teams in total. We recorded out highest ever finish in the Mixed Indoor Inter-Varsity Tournament finishing 6th.

Furthermore, as the Ultimate community grows, so did we. In the Open Indoor Inter-Varsity Tournament, for the first time the history of Queens Ultimate we managed to send 2 teams to compete. Although we did not end up winning the tournament, we ended receiving 1st and 2nd Spirit Awards which recognises the team with the best sportsmanship in the game.

As the Outdoor season came around, we held our head high and retained the Plate for another year running. And we hope to keep doing so for the years to come and eventually challenge for the Cup.

We were Champions for the Maynooth Open (non – competitive tournament) and we also won Best Spirit in that same tournament.
