The Queen's Ladies Volleyball team is a great society for both fun and competitive volleyball. We play in the Northern Ireland National League, last season entering one team. A few years ago, we had our best season ever, when our first team won the first NI Volleyball treble, winning the league, the cup and the league cup. Last year was a competitive season, where we finished 4th in the NI league. We also enter other local and student tournaments and events, such as Irish Intervarsities.
We hold trainings twice a week at the PEC, Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10pm in the Main Hall. We also have tournaments and trainings with the men’s team, promoting a volleyball club atmosphere, with team and club members training together to improve and enjoy volleyball. We have matches September through April across the country. We end the season with the Northern Irish Cup competition in late April or early May.
Playing volleyball is a great way to meet people, get involved with the Queen's Sport community as well as the Northern Ireland volleyball community, and compete on a successful team. We are a very social team and we welcome all to come and give volleyball a try! We have every level player in our club, as well as a large international population, and we welcome beginners to come learn the sport.
