About

We are a group of medical students who, alongside spending every spare minute outdoors—climbing, cycling, hiking, or running—noticed there was a significant gap in the societies at Queen’s: there was no society that combined both medicine and the outdoors.

Wilderness and Expedition Medicine fills that gap. Our main goal as a society is to bring together a group of people who have an interest in the outdoors and in medicine, or who just want to feel safer in the outdoors. We try to meet each week with scenario-type sessions and will be offering opportunities for part-funded, accredited courses such as the REC2 scheme.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are studying a healthcare course or not. Head over to our instagram for more information. Feel free to drop us a DM or give us an email wem-soc@qub.ac.uk  with any questions. :)
