As campaigns officer for the QUB Feminist and Equality Society 21/22, I helped bring forward and presented a motion to the council, pushing QUB to declare Gender Based Violence an Emergency. Through my role as a student representative this year I plan to continue to lobby the university to put its pledges into action and force change to policy at Queen's.
Outside of QUB, I work tirelessly with The Homeless Period Belfast, forcing legislative change and raising awareness around the impacts of period shame and stigma. My most recent work highlights the lack of awareness and understanding of invisible illnesses and disabilities, using my experience with endometriosis as an example of how shame and stigma, keeps disabled people from getting the help that they not only need but deserve. This year I will translate this passion and experience to motivating Queen's to stand behind their students and support them to their highest potential.
