We are the 25%

Hi, I’m Kieran I am currently studying a masters in ecology. I am also running to be the MHLS postgraduate taught faculty representative.

Though I may be new to Queens, I have always been a passionate advocate for students’ issues, serving as a class and course rep. I have first-hand experience of how difficult the transition into postgrad can be for anyone, especially when you have been out of university for a while or are coming to Queens from a different uni.

We are part of one of the largest faculties in the school and we as postgrads now make up more than 25% of the student base, isn’t it time the university paid more attention to our issues?

What I stand for:

  • A robust and expanded research environment
  • Listening to the issues that are important across the faculty and getting them resolved
  • Better promotion of the faculty both within and outside Queens
  • Greater resources to be made available within the faculty for postgrads
  • Holding the university to account where it fails us
  • The promotion of sustainability within the faculty
  • More events, initiatives and opportunities centred on our faculty
  • The streamlining and centralising of the scholarship system, to ensure you don’t miss opportunities you deserve
  • Programs to provide a warmer welcome both for students from outside Queens and returning students, within the faculty
  • Better advertisement and signposting of opportunities available

If you want a representative that holds the university to task, represents your views, works with you and campaigns passionately for MHLS; vote Kieran for representative. We are the 25%!
