Working hard so you don't have to.
My name is Leo Llewelyn Davies. I hail from England but I'm Welsh in my blood and I've always been passionate about upholding the rights of the less represented peoples of this country and the world.
I was the head boy of my school and introduced recycling for the first time since it was built. It takes a lot of commitment to shift old ideas and bring change where it's needed. I assure you, there's nothing I won't do for the purposes of representing this entire student body and guiding us into the future. If elected, I will continue to hold my current seat on council and consistently continue to reach out to the student body and do my best, every single day, to do you all proud and vote on matters that make student life easier.
It shouldn't be hard to BE a student. It should be hard work studying, should be hard work writing essays or making presentations. Although, it should absolutely not be hard just to live and breathe as a student at QUB. We have a right to hold our work as our main priority. That means tackling the cost of living crisis, tackling period poverty, tackling accommodation issues, tackling rising prices and tackling under-representation of postgraduate students, mature students and student parents or carers.
I've spent the last 4 months working as hard as I can for all of you in my current role. I ask you humbly to allow me to continue my work and, hopefully, make your life a whole lot easier. Let my 8 years of martial arts training show that I am heavily committed to the causes I care for. Thank you.
