I am the current president of PAMSOC, as well as dual course rep for both the schools of Maths & Physics and EEECS.
As part of my course rep work I have successfully:
- Added a new module choice for Maths and CS students.
- Worked early in the year to prevent deadline bunching and improve exam timetable structuring.
- Met with school leadership to develop strategies to make the school a better, more welcoming environment for students.
- Sat on the gender and equality committee within the school to promote diversity and inclusivity.
- Worked with the Maths Academy to deliver revisions sessions
- Secured funding for Maths support and resilience workshops which will be delivered around Easter.
- Was awarded the SU Academic Course Rep of the Year award for my work.
What I will do as School Rep:
- Ensure previous lecture recordings are available as well as current recordings.
- Make the MAPTC a more friendly campus location by getting water fountains and other amenities.
- Prevent exam bunching by working with the exams office.
- Reducing isolation within courses by running outreach and socialising events.
- Specialised coding classes for masters students with particular project requirements.
- LaTeX workshops for all students.
