Candidate for the position of Undergraduate School Representative - School of Mathematics & Physics (SMP)

I am the current president of PAMSOC, as well as dual course rep for both the schools of Maths & Physics and EEECS.

 As part of my course rep work I have successfully:

-   Added a new module choice for Maths and CS students. 

-   Worked early in the year to prevent deadline bunching and improve exam timetable structuring.

-   Met with school leadership to develop strategies to make the school a better, more welcoming environment for students.

-   Sat on the gender and equality committee within the school to promote diversity and inclusivity.

-   Worked with the Maths Academy to deliver revisions sessions

-   Secured funding for Maths support and resilience workshops which will be delivered around Easter.

-   Was awarded the SU Academic Course Rep of the Year award for my work.

What I will do as School Rep:

-   Ensure previous lecture recordings are available as well as current recordings.

-   Make the MAPTC a more friendly campus location by getting water fountains and other amenities.

-   Prevent exam bunching by working with the exams office.

-   Reducing isolation within courses by running outreach and socialising events.

-   Specialised coding classes for masters students with particular project requirements.

-        LaTeX workshops for all students.
