Imagine what we could achieve, if we empowered each other!
As a student representative for the past two years, I have voiced students' issues in Student Voice Committee meetings, and followed up with staff to ensure changes are being implemented. I advocated for changes in the application for exceptional circumstances, for those with caring responsibilities. Changes have been made and students within a caring role can now apply for extensions, when necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances impacting their ability to submit assignments on time.
If elected, I will continue to advocate for all students, ensuring that opinions and voices are heard and issues are resolved, at a Faculty level.
I believe that every student should feel they belong to the QUB student community, therefore, I will stand for and with students, ensuring that everyone is treated equally and are given the same opportunities throughout their degree.
Lecture recordings have become part of student life, with many of us knowing no other way. Students deserve the opportunity to catch up on missed lectures, and to have the option to rewatch lectures as a refresher closer to exam periods. This alongside reducing exam stress, is why I will continue to support SU and fight for lecture recordings to remain!
Good communication skills, being respectful of others and listening to student experiences are all necessary for resolving issues, and I know I can deliver these for students within EPS faculty, over the coming academic year.
