Your Voice, Your Power for Change!
Hi, my name is Erika Lim - a second year LL.B Law student. I am standing to be elected as a school representative as I would like to play a part in bridging the communication gap between the student community and the university.
My paramount goal is ensuring that the voices of all students (irrespective of gender, racial background, religion, social status, age, or disability) are adequately represented and heard at all times. Whether academically or otherwise, every student deserves to feel supported. With a friendly and approachable personality, I believe these qualities will encourage my peers to convey any problems or ideas they may have to create an even more conducive and optimal learning environment for students studying here at Queen's - if you see me in the hallways, come say Hi!
What's in it for you?
As your representative, some of my key initiatives will include:
- Advocating to bring back lecture recordings;
- Organizing school-wide activities to increase engagement and networking amongst Law students of varying levels; and
- Creating an online platform for students to share issues faced and suggestions, from anywhere at any time (with optional anonymity) - popular issues raised will be converted into polls open for student voting to facilitate better negotiations.
University is more than a mere transitional phase from education to career; it is a platform for us to acquire as many practical skills and absorb as much academic knowledge as possible to become desirable candidates entering the workforce. I want to help every student make the most of their university experience, embrace all it has to offer and enjoy the process.
Let YOUR voice be heard - A Vote For Me Is A Vote For YOU!
