Hazel McMorrow

Why fix it yourself? Leave it to the pros.

My name is Hazel Mc Morrow, I’m current School Rep of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences. This makes me an excellent candidate for Faculty Rep as I  have first-hand experience working with the current faculty rep Monica and learning from her. I have also utilised all opportunities to get to know the faculty members and learn how the MHLS faculty works.

In the past year, I have used information collected from S.V.C. meetings that your course reps and I have escalated student feedback through various school and faculty committees to ensure issues are taken seriously and resolved, to make student life a more enjoyable experience for allMDBS school in attempt to make student life a more enjoyable experience for all.

The progression from school rep to faculty rep is a natural one. I am determined to step into this position with my best foot forward. I understand the commitment involved in council meetings, sitting on various board and creating feedback loops from course reps to school reps to faculty reps.

Having studied the faculty’s  academic plan for 2030, I understand the targets this faculty aims to reach/maintain. I want to ensure that all the necessary steps are taken to ensure these targets are met.

MY AIMS

  • Reduce the cost of education (in this faculty its insanely expensive).I would work with the VP to do this
  • Create a transparent and open faculty, with student contribution.
  • Build the connection between the faculty and the students.
  • Establish a sense of community within the faculty.
