FND Matters NI is providing specialised, life-changing support to children, young people & adults living with Functional Neurological Disorder in N. Ireland and helping to fill a massive gap within our healthcare system where patients with life-changing & disabling symptoms face stigma, isolation & little support.
Functional Neurological Disorder can result in significant & life-changing disability yet there is currently no medical pathway of care for FND patients, little understanding of the condition amongst healthcare professionals & very little offered in treatments or support.
Patients often feel stigmatised and isolated. FND Matters NI is the only charity supporting people living in N. Ireland with FND.
The charity is run entirely by volunteers and depends on donations & fund-raising activities to carry out its work. Fund-raising support along with the opportunity to help raise awareness of the FND among the QUB student population would be absolutely invaluable to the charity.
