Internal Medicine Society - 2023 Committee Elections

The QUB Internal Medicine Society are currently recruiting committed and hardworking students to join our team for the next academic year. The society offers a range of opportunities to get involved in teaching (and potentially research) and is heavily focused on supporting students advance their clinical knowledge ; therefore, we will only be accepting students who have shown engagement with the society by attending our talks, and are not looking to sit on multiple (>2) committees. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERING OR INTERESTED IN PURSUING INTERNAL MEDICINE TRAINING. There are a selection of roles available suitable for every type of person. The Education Officers are expected to: - organise and collate educational material received from the “Student Academics” - fact-check content being put out to students in talks and on social media - create medical and pharmacology MCQs for distribution on socials and via email - contribute to our monthly clinical summaries booklet

Internal Medicine Society - Clinical Summaries Lead

The Clinical Summaries lead is expected to: - coordinate the production of a once-monthly “clinical summary” booklet containing 1 page summaries of 10 conditions from different medical specialties (e.g. cardiology) each summary should contain headings such as “definition”, “epidemiology”, “pathophysiology”, “clinical presentation”, “investigations”, and “management” - be prepared to assist, and if necessary take on the work of, contributors who may be unable to meet their commitments - proofread
