My Motivation
- Having previously worked in the field of human rights with the Northern Ireland commissioner and representing our country on two european panels, I am no stranger to loud advocacy for equality.
- By always having a passion for women’s rights and coming from a long line of incredibly strong and resilient women, I am extremely motivated to advocate for feminism in post and promote the union of our brilliant ladies across our campus.
- I feel that there is nothing more unifying than empowerment, and I hope that my motivation to run for this position inspires other women to enhance their own sense of leadership.
Aims
- Engaging charities - I will run more charity events for ending violence against women, student-friendly fundraisers based on or near campus.
- A listening ear - Further engage the viewpoints and perspectives of our women on campus and fight to have a safe space for women’s needs and opinions. I would like to collabroate with the FemSoc society for this. Our voices matter. your voice will be heard.
- Safety Out and About - Aim to bring more awareness around sexual harrassment in Belfast - night out safety especially.
- Always a Way Out - Working with Women’s Aid to provide resources on campus to help women out of emotionally / physically abusive relationships.
About Me
- I am a Year 2 Law student here at Queen’s.
- I am part of the Equality and Feminist Society, Women in Law, Law Society and I am a publicity volunteer for Nightline.
- My mix of societies allow me to upkeep my feminist values whilst advocating for mental health and bringing the student body together as a whole.
