Being a voice that helps make Queen's an inclusive, supportive and empowering environment for all LGBTQ+ students to express themselves. As well as championing the diversity and intersectionality within Belfast's LGBTQ+ community.
As LGBT+ Student's Association Chairperson, I want to be a dedicated and progressive voice to represent the interests of all queer students at Queens. Globally, there has been a rise in anti-LGBT rhetoric, with people feeling scared to exist as their authentic selves. I want to ensure that Queens University remains to be a safe space for its students.
As an activist that has campaigned and organised in many diffrerent areas, such as Palestine, housing rights, anti-racism, reproductive rights and enivronmental issues. I have experience in working to advocate for, and bring about change.
As LGBT+ Student's Association Chairperson, I want to:
Ensure Queen's commits to being an inclusive environment for Trans, Nonbinary and Intersex students.
Support LGBT+ International students, particularly those from less accepting countries.
Work with local queer owned businesses and organisations on campus.
Make sure students feel comfortable voicing any instances of queerphobia on campus and rectifying it.
I look forward to the opportunity to be the voice LGBT+ students at Queens deserve.
