VOTE CHLOE #1 For Chairperson. I will continue to be your strong, confident voice within the SU; and continue working on key promises like a binder bank and updating the University’s Trans Policy. I will never stop fighting for our community.
Hey guys, for the last year I've had the privilege of being the chairperson of your Trans' Students Association. Here's what I've done so far in that time:
- Doubled the frequency of association meetings
- Been an active and vocal voice for the trans community at Executive Management Committee and Student Council
- Represented the trans community at Queen’s at Belfast Pride and AMLÉ's Pink Training
- Worked with the Student Officer for Welfare to proactively take steps to improve the trans experience here, working on changes to the university's trans inclusion policy and participation in sports clubs.
But my work isn't done yet. There is still so much to do, such as:
- Introducing a Binder Bank into the SU
- Working with Transgress the NGS to bring their safe injection programme to our university
- Ensuring we send our full allocation of students to next years Pink Training, an incredibly fun event everyone should have the chance to go to.
It's a scary time to be trans, and we need to make sure we have a competent voice at the table to make our voices heard.
