My policies and aims as your Activities and Engagement Officer:

Student Sports Day

I want to launch a Student Sports Day - the perfect community event for the integration of all students.

Think, egg and spoon races, sack races, staff vs students round, final years meet first years.

Free to participate. No membership required.

📍The Dub

Increase in free breakfasts and lunches and more day time activities in the SU

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, I hope to increase the number of free meals provided for students.
I will advocate for a wider range of diverse daytime events, catering for a vibrant student life outside of the SU bar.

Increased Irish language classes within the language centre.

Ever tried to book an Irish language class at only to find they’re booked out within 24 hours? As a Modern Languages student, I believe that language is the heartbeat of culture and it is imperative that we meet the clear and growing demand from our students.

The McClay Bus

Walking home from the library late at night sometimes feels quite unsafe for us students. I propose a late-night shuttle bus service after midnight running between the McClay and the main student residential areas. This service aims to operate during the peak of exam season.

Implementing official certificates for executive members of clubs and societies as a reward for their dedication and commitment. Your hours of hard work deserve to be accredited.

Clubs and Societies are at the heart of life at Queen’s. Leading a club or society or isn’t always easy and joining something new is sometimes very daunting. I’ve experienced both these things first hand, I know what it’s like to sit as an executive on the commitee of a society and what it’s like to arrive in a city and not know anybody. This is why I would love to be to be your Activities and Enggagement officer: to make non-academic life as inclusive and as fun as possible, and to make your voice, amongst 1,000s of students stand out.
