About me:
As your current Association Chair, I have worked closely with the current Student Officer team to represent Mature & Part Time students in different meetings, council, and at different engagement days. I've seen the challenges faced by Mature & Part Time Students, and want to try and create a more supportive enviroment for all students who attend Queens Univeristy, espcially if they're Mature & Part Time. A university experience should be inclusive rather than exclusive.
As a third year PhD student, I've seen first hand some of the challenges faced by Mature & Part Time students; whether that's struggling to get to university due to costs of public transport and childcare, or whether it because events are focused on young full time students and not accessible, and I want to change this.
My goal is to bring Mature & Part Time students into the university life, and put the U back in SU!
So, why should you vote for me?
I've got nearly ten years of student voice experience under my belt, ranging from student council to NUS-USI, to NUS. I know what it takes to be an effective representative, and I know how to engage with key stakeholders at different levels.
This experience has helped guide me in working on the student council and working with the current Student Officers to bring Mature and Part Time Students into the conversation, rather than an after thought.
To put the U back in SU, we need to work together. By hearing your thoughts, I can bring your concerns to the relevant party and make your time at university a positive one!
