What You'll Do
- Represent students on your course (or subject area/research cluster for PGRs)
- Attend Student Voice Committees and other key meetings in your School
- Raise student feedback and contribute to decision-making
- Collaborate with staff and other reps on changes that benefit current and future students
Course Reps are academic representatives — not expected to support individual student issues — but you’ll be trained to signpost peers to relevant support services.

Course Reps have helped:
- Improve course content and feedback processes

Time Commitment
Reps typically spend around two hours per week on the role, which may include:
- Conversations with staff or students
- Attending meetings
- Reading proposals and gathering feedback
- Sharing feedback with the Union or your School
Available Roles
We are no longer accepting open applications for 2025-26.
If you have been referred by your School, you may register using the link provided by them.
We will be recruiting again in March/April 2026 for Undergraduate Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 for the 2026-27 academic year.
How to Apply
- Complete a short online form to express interest
- Most courses have one rep per year (larger courses may have more)
- If multiple students apply, selection is usually by random draw
- You’ll hear back within four weeks after the deadline
- By applying, you agree to follow the rules of the SU and the University and allow us to process your data under our privacy policy
Reps recruited in May start in their roles on 1 Sept. Reps recruited in Sept/Oct start once selected.
Training and Support
- Core training is provided starting in Sept 25
- In-person follow-up session
- Optional development sessions throughout the year
- Briefings on academic issues and policy changes
- Regular Rep Forums with students, staff, and SU Officers
- Peer support and opportunities to share feedback and ideas

Additional Info
- These are voluntary roles (unpaid), but offer excellent experience
- Course Reps in 2024-25 must reapply if they wish to continue in 2025–26
- Organising social activities is not part of the role - usually done by academic societies
- Queen's-INTO students do not apply using this form. Their Course Reps are recruited locally in Queen's-INTO.
