Parents' and Carers' Support Fund

Student Parents' and Carers' Support Fund

The Parents’ and Carers’ Support Fund is a small fund created to help student parent and carers who experience financial difficulty which is impacting on their educational attainment at Queen’s.

It is recognised that student parents and carers face a range of additional challenges and responsibilities which can lead to financial difficulties, place large time constraints on them and create ensuing stress.

The fund will provide a maximum of £200 to successful applicants.

Monies from the fund can be used to support parenting and caring activity.

This could include paying for essentials items (food, clothing, energy, childcare, medical bills), babysitters, respite care, or a social / developmental activity for a child or care receiver.

Awards will be made to applicants based on how an award will assist them in discharging their parenting / caring responsibilities and in supporting their educational attainment in Queen’s.

At present the fund can provide 25 awards of £200 to applicants.

This fund is made possible by financial support from the UCU at QUB.

Applications close on Mon 8 July 2024, 9am.
